BENEFITS OF A WORKPLACE RELATIONS MEMBERSHIP

Workplace Relations members receive:

  • Free prompt and accurate advice by phone or email on award and wage matters. The Chamber’s Workplace Relations Hotline provides prompt and accurate advice on Award conditions and wages in the ACT, NSW and Federal jurisdictions. As well as the Hotline, the Chamber has a free email advisory service that compliments our telephone service;
  • One free copy of the award most relevant to the staff you employ;
  • Free Award updates and wage bulletin service – to update your designated free Award – we look out for the changes and notify you immediately so you don’t have to worry whether you are paying the correct rate of pay to your staff – we guarantee that you will know;
  • Free Workplace Relations Fact Sheets on a wide range of topics from Australian Workplace Agreements to Unfair Dismissal issues;
  • Substantial discount on WR fee for service rates (50% minimum discount on our non-member rates);

The Chamber’s Workplace Relations Team provides advice on the full range of employment, workplace relations and human resource management issues on a fee for service basis in the interests of protecting, representing and furthering the interests of Chamber members.

Another benefit of WR membership is access to efficient and successful representation for employers in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) –particularly in relation to claims of unfair dismissal, industrial disputes and award variations and also representation in other jurisdictions in relation to alleged breaches of legislation, discrimination matters and underpayment of wages. The fee involved for such representation in the AIRC is at a considerably reduced rate for members of the ACT & Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Our qualified and experienced Workplace Relations specialists advise on a broad range of issues including:

  • Drafting and negotiating Collective Agreements and contracts;
  • Occupational Health and Safety;
  • Workers’ compensation – legislation, claims procedures, rehabilitation and re-entry into the workplace;
  • Discrimination and harassment issues – including complaints to the Human Rights Commission;
  • Termination of employment;
  • Unfair dismissal, including representation in the AIRC;
  • Employment conditions and wages;
  • Performance management, including dealing with underperformance;
  • Human resource polices tailored to your business.
