1. Collective Agreements - Development, Approval & Implementation

The Chamber will work with you to:

  • Evaluate your business need for an agreement
  • Plan, negotiate and reach an appropriate agreement
  • Draft the agreement
  • Secure Workplace Authority approval
  • Manage successful implementation
  • Manage any changes
  • Secure National Building code compliance

Make agreements work for your business through our tailored solutions for employers of all sizes.  Chamber staff have extensive experience in all forms of agreements and can advise you on the type of agreement which best suits your needs. We have helped over 300 employers make changes in the workplace through the implementation of agreements. We have been successful in all areas including large and small employers with union and non-union workplaces.

2. Representation

If you ask us to formally represent you in certain case matter including unfair dismissal claims, we can advise you every step of the way as part of our Fee for Service support, help with or handle all the necessary paper work and technical requirements, represent you in negotiations with the employee and in any Court or Commission proceedings. We are a not-for-profit organisation so our charges are generally half those of lawyers and we have a track record of resolving these issues promptly and effectively for the business, often negotiating an acceptable settlement and therefore keeping business owners out of more formal proceedings.

3. Workplace Policies and Company Manuals

Today’s numerous complex employment laws require employers to have workplace policies and company manuals on a wide range of issues in

place and ensure these are understood by all employees.  The Chamber can help you to:

  • Ensure your workplace policies are simple and straight forward;
  • Provide all the tools and assistance to make sure you’ve covered the areas most likely to expose you to risk;
  • Ensure you’ve dealt with your legal obligations.
  • The Chamber Workplace Relations team can develop employee handbooks and policies for you on subjects including:
  • Codes of Conduct;
  • Computer/internet usage;
  • Confidentiality;
  • Discrimination;
  • Dismissal;
