Membership

Chamber members find it a real benefit to be supported by the membership team. With over 40 years experience in business, management and business related issues the team provides a personalised service. Their knowledge base is across all the Chamber services so that they can identify opportunities and value to your business through membership.

Workplace Relations

This is the Chamber’s most utilised service where you will find a dedicated team. The teams experience includes 20 plus years of workplace relations and information, human resource management, advice and interpretation on awards, workplace agreements and the most commonly used, WR hot line. These specialists provide business specific services focused solely on the needs and interests of the employer.

Lobbying Activity & Media

The Chamber continues to lobby business views to government on legislation in a wide range of areas including workcover, education, employment, planning, skills shortages, parking, and other policy issues. The Chamber works closely with political leaders and Government to create positive outcomes for business. Staff members sit on a variety of committees and advisory bodies such as the Educational Ministerial Round table, ACT OHS Council, Aust Chamber of Commerce & Industry Workplace Policy Committee and most often are the only business representative advocating business.

Events & Promotion

An important requirement to business is events and promotion and a dedicated staff member supports these needs. Chamber events are of a high quality and are business related. Events include monthly Business after Business, Meet the Minister Luncheons, Federal and Local Budget events. A fortnightly e-newsletter provides relevant and updated business information.

News & Information

ACT & Region Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Chamber News ensures members are up to date with information relevant to the way businesses operate in Canberra and the region. This e-publication is distributed twice a month to ALL members of the Chamber and to MLA and Government offices.

Employment, Education and Training

The Employment, Education and Training team runs a wide range of government initiatives to business, schools and students. Programs include school to work transition, career advice, and training for your business, and addressing the current skill shortages.
